ITC - INSTRUCTOR TRAINING COURSE
Become a Diving Instructor!
The objective of the course is to prepare candidates for the final test of the training: the Instructor Evaluation (IE). Once you pass this evaluation, you will be certified as an SSI Open Water Instructor, which will allow you to work in SSI Training Centers in more than 130 countries around the world. Once you’ve passed the Instructor Evaluation, you’ll be able to train new SSI divers, teach the Enriched Air Nitrox, Diver Stress & Rescue programs and prepare new Dive Guides. The possibilities are endless, so don’t wait any longer and start your diving career!
Course
During the Instructor Training Course you will conduct theory and practical classes; you will be taught how to prepare academic presentations and in-water teaching skills; you will be given the tools and knowledge necessary to organize, teach and evaluate dive courses; and you will perform all the assessments of the SSI education system in confined and open water, practicing all the Skills exercises to provide the best and safest training to your students.
- Academic sessions: As many as necessary until the candidate has acquired the necessary knowledge and skills to meet the requirements of the Assessment at the highest level.

What do you get once you pass the assessment?
– Open Water Instructor certification with which you will be able to perform and instruct the following activities: Try Scuba, Basic Diver, Scuba Diver, Open Water Diver, Scuba Skills Update and Advanced Adventurer.
– Perfect Buoyancy Specialty Instructor Certification.
– Nitrox EAN40 Specialty Instructor Certification.
– Stress & Rescue Specialty Instructor Certification.
– Dive Gude Specialty Instructor Certification.

– Student’s diving equipment1.

Candidate prerequisites
– SSI Divemaster certification or equivalent from another recognized certifying agency and/or Assistant Instructor.
– EAN40 Nitrox certification.
– First aid, CPR and O25 provider certificate.
– Diving medical certificate.
– Diving insurance in force6.
– Minimum age: 18 years old.
– Have logged a minimum of 75 open water dives prior to starting the ITC.
1 As an SSI professional, the student should have his or her own equipment. If not, we can provide equipment for the course.
2 If you do not have a valid medical certificate, we can provide you with the contact details of the Underwater Medicine center in Menorca.
3 Ask us, we have some recommendations for you.
4 The fee of 550€ (2024 price) shall be paid directly to SSI at least 15 days before the evaluation.
5 As an SSI professional, it is necessary to have these certifications in place. If not, it is possible to take these courses with us prior to the start of the ITC.
6 If you do not have insurance, we can arrange insurance at our center.
